BOSTON– Former RMU women’s hockey player Michaela Boyle has been named the Executive Director of her former junior league team, the Boston Lady Whalers. The 22-year old will oversee hockey management for the Lady Whalers both on and off the ice. Boyle is still the team’s all-time leader in points.

Boyle transferred back home to Boston College in July of 2021 after spending two seasons with RMU scoring 51 points and winning a CHA Championship. She was one of the most vocal players about the cancellation of RMU men’s and women’s Division I hockey on May 26, 2021.

“I am extremely honored and eager to take over as the Executive Director for the Boston Lady Whalers program. Spending my developmental years as a member of the Boston Lady Whalers as a player and student-athlete, and now being able to be able to give back and share everything that I’ve learned with the superstars of tomorrow is something that I am grateful for and do not take lightly.” Boyle said.

Boyle will replace Dana Trivigno, a Boston College alumni and current PWHPA who spent seven years as the executive director. Announced alongside Boyle’s promotion, the Boston Lady Whalers also named US Olympic Gold Medalist Cayla Barnes Associate Director and current PHF forward Kayla Friesen Director of Player Development.
