#FormerColonialWatch: Jordan Timmons signs with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads

BOISE, IDAHO– Former Robert Morris men’s hockey forward Jordan Timmons signed with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL, it was announced this evening.

Timmons transferred to Long Island University after the Colonials cut their ice hockey program in 2021.

In 29 games this season with the Sharks, Timmons had a career year, tallying 16 points. He was second on the team in goals with eight and fifth in scoring.

Timmons played his 2020-21 season at Robert Morris. He played in 13 games and registered 11 points (9g-2a).

Timmons suffered a lower-body injury on Jan. 23, 2021 in a game against RIT. He was out of action for the rest of the regular season, but he returned for the playoff series against Niagara. Timmons scored one goal in three playoff games against the Purple Eagles.

Before his time at RMU, Timmons played on the 18U national team Pittsburgh Penguins Elite and secured a national title with the team. After he won a USA hockey national championship, he went to play his 2017-2018 season in the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks and Cedar Rapids Rough Riders.

After his time in the USHL, Timmons committed to playing hockey at the University of Connecticut following his time in the USHL.

Timmons is signed to the Steelheads for the rest of this season. He will play his first homestand with the team on Wednesday, Mar. 23.
