The Colonials will open their season at Utah State and will host DII opponents Edinboro and Frostburg State and will host Delaware State in non-conference play.
The team will open up conference play against Wagner in Staten Island on Sept. 21. They will then return home Oct. 19 to face LIU. The week following, the Colonials host Saint Francis before heading into the bye week. The Colonials defeated the Red Flash in Moon Township last September, snapping an 11-game losing streak.
After the week off is the much anticipated matchup against Duquesne on their turf, a long awaited revival of the crosstown rivalry.
Head Coach Bernard Clark said upon the release, “We are excited to be back in the NEC and have the opportunity to play familiar opponents. This was certainly a great move for the RMU football program as we look forward to new challenges.”
Then the Colonials will travel to Central Connecticut State before ending the season at home against Stonehill on Nov. 23.
With the conference change, the Colonials is immediately eligible for postseason play.
Coach Clark and the Colonials look to improve on their 4-7 record in 2023.
