Robert Morris football traveled to Cape Girardeau to take on conference-leading Southeast Missouri on Saturday.

Robert Morris defeated Southeast Missouri, 21-20.

Southeast Missouri was feeling good entering the matchup, as they were victorious in their past three matchups. Robert Morris on the other hand entered the matchup on a four-game losing streak. This resulted in the Colonials being 28-point underdogs going into the contest.

TAKING CONTROL EARLY

The Colonials jumped on the board first on a two-yard rushing touchdown for Chiccitt, and led the Redhawks, 14-3, at the end of the first quarter.

IT’S BEEN A WHILE

Their last win to come on the road was against Wagner on October 19, 2019. It has been 1,477 days between road wins, in that matter of time the hockey teams got both taken away and brought back.

CHICCITT-ROBINSON DUO STAY HOT

Noah Robinson gave the Redhawks secondary issues all game long. Anthony Chiccitt went 20/33 passing as he threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns, along with 14 rushing yards and a touchdown. 11 of the 20 Chiccitt completions went to Noah Robinson, as he went for 167 yards and a touchdown. The duo connected late in the first quarter for a 51-yard touchdown to put the Colonials up 14-3.

SECOND HALF DEFENSIVE DOMINATION

After allowing two touchdowns in the second quarter, the Robert Morris defense came to play in the next half. They held the Redhawks offense to 130 yards and 3 points in the second half.

Robert Morris returns home next Saturday to take on Charleston Southern.
