First-year head coach Michelle Rick has hired Reaghan Duval as assistant coach, it was announced Tuesday.
Reaghan Duval, a young but experienced coach at different levels of soccer, joins the Colonials, having last served as a goalkeeping coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University. The North Carolina native also worked in Olympic development system and her local teams.
Rick’s new assistant also competed at Campbell University in the Big South during her playing career in college.
Duval now joins RMU with high expectations to follow up last seasons success.
“I want to extend a sincere thank you to Chris King, Marty Galosi, and Michelle Rick for giving me this opportunity,” Duval said. “I’m excited to join a high-caliber athletics program that gives their coaches and athletes every opportunity to succeed.”
“[Reaghan’s] a rising young coach and knows what it takes to be a part of a championship-level program from her playing background and competing in the Big South, along with coaching experience with one of the top Division II programs in the country. Her ability to connect with our student-athletes and support their development on and off the field will elevate the program from day one.” said Rick.
The Colonials are in the midst of their spring season right now, and will look to build off the success found by the team last year, breaking the program record for wins, as well as earning berth into and winning in the Horizon League Tournament for the first time.
