On Tuesday night, former Robert Morris forward Justin Winston announced via Instagram that he would be committing to Coppin State University after spending one season with the Colonials.

Winston, a West Orange, New Jersey native, appeared in 21 games this past season for RMU, starting in nine of those contests. He averaged 8.7 points per game, shooting the ball at a 46 percent clip from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arc.

Before Winston’s time with the Colonials, he spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at St. Bonaventure. His freshman campaign averaged around the same figures as he did at Robert Morris, averaging 8.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

This isn’t the first former Colonial to transfer to Coppin State, as Koby Thomas transferred into the program after spending his first two seasons with Robert Morris.

Winston is the first player out of the group of off-season transfers, including Brandon Stone, Kam Farris and Chase Cook, to find a new home.
