After coming off a Horizon League Tournament appearance in their inaugural season in Horizon League, RMU softball has released their 2022 schedule on Monday.

The Colonials recorded a record of 25-19 last season and 20-14 in-conference, qualifying for the 2021 Horizon League Tournament as the no. 4 seed losing to champion Youngstown State and Oakland.

The Colonials will kick off their spring on the road in Greensboro, N.C., to hold a three-game series, including a doubleheader against North Carolina A&T, on Feb. 11. While in Greensboro, the Colonials will face Howard on Feb. 12 and 13.

RMU will also participate in the Winthrop Invitational, Feb. 18-20, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, with five games in three days. The Colonials will open the tournament against Ball State on Feb. 18 and take on Albany on Feb. 18 and 20, Towson on Feb. 19, and the host Eagles on Feb. 19.

The March schedule opens with RMU’s first trip out west since 2016 as they will take a journey to the Pacific Northwest and open with a three-game set at Portland State. The Colonials will take on the Vikings in a doubleheader Friday, Mar. 4, before concluding the series the next day.

The trip also includes doubleheaders in Corvallis to face Oregon State (Mar. 7) and as well as a matchup at Washington (Mar. 8) and Seattle (Mar. 9).

Robert Morris returns home for the first time all year and will welcome Green Bay Mar. 11-12 to kick-off conference play, the first time they will come to Moon Township.

The Colonials will host Akron in a doubleheader on Mar. 22 and will face their inner-city foe, Pitt, in a home and home series. The Colonials will play the Panthers at the NAC on Mar. 30. The Panthers then will take the day trip to Vartabedian Field on May 3.

The 2022 Horizon League Tournament is set for May 12-14, 2022 at the campus of the regular-season champion.
