Today, RMU Athletics announced a TV partnership with the Sinclair Broadcast Group to televise six Robert Morris Horizon League games this upcoming season.

Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Chris King hinted at the partnership in a CSN exclusive interview in August.

“We are finalizing a deal to do a local broadcast for four of the men’s games and two of the women’s games, which then reaches us out to the Pittsburgh market and Wheeling/Steubenville market as well. It helps us generate some additional revenues and it’s also our way of tip-toeing our way in the waters in regards to a local broadcast and simulcasting it with ESPN+.”

Games can be seen live on 22 the Point in the Pittsburgh region as well as MeTV Ohio Valley for the Steubenville, Ohio, and Wheeling West Virginia regions.

Both stations will televise four men’s basketball games and two women’s basketball games throughout the Horizon League schedule.

The men’s games include matchups against Wright State on January 13, Milwaukee on January 27, Detroit Mercy on February 9 and IUPUI on February 17.

The two women’s games selected were matchups against Youngstown State on January 20 and Wright State on February 18.

This partnership comes after the Horizon announced their national TV schedule for the upcoming season which includes the Robert Morris conference opener on December 4, on the road against Green Bay.

The team has also been picked for potential wildcard matchups on ESPN2.

All other games will be televised on ESPN3 and ESPN+.

Along with this announcement comes the resurgence of the Colonial Crazies, as the Twitter account recently became active again and Meet the Colonials will take place in the UPMC Events Center on Thursday, October 28, at 8:00 p.m.
