The Robert Morris men’s basketball team has been forced to shuffle their non-conference schedule as a result of positive COVID-19 tests among team personnel. Tests were conducted on the program’s student-athletes, coaches, and staff members.

The Colonials were scheduled to host Point Park on November 25, but the game has been postponed until a decision is made regarding the rest of RMU’s previously scheduled non-conference games. The team was scheduled to play on the road at Central Michigan on November 28 and host Florida Gulf Coast on December 2, but those games have been moved to the 2021-22 season.

Robert Morris is now scheduled to face former Northeast Conference (NEC) foe and 2020 NEC Tournament runner-up Saint Francis on the road December 5 at a time yet to be determined. The West Virginia Mountaineers are the only other non-conference team left on the current schedule, with the Colonials headed to Morgantown for the first time in ten years on December 9.

RMU Athletics has also announced updated information on the status of winter sports.

The athletics department said Thursday that fans will not be allowed into the UPMC Events Center or Clearview Arena for any competition through November 30.

RMU men’s hockey is slated to be the first team back in action since men’s basketball walked off the court as NEC champions back in March.

Men’s hockey will take the ice on Saturday, November 21 against Alabama-Huntsville at 7:05 pm., followed by a second matchup the following day at 4:05 pm. Fans will also miss out on the program’s AHA season opener against Canisius on November 27.

This past Wednesday the Allegheny County Health Department announced a stay-at-home advisory to combat the rising number of new coronavirus cases the county is experiencing.
