The Colonials begin conference play on the road against Cleveland State on Nov. 29.

On Tuesday, the Robert Morris women’s basketball team announced their 2023-24 Horizon League conference schedule.

The conference also announced it would be dropping the ‘travel partner’ approach to scheduling.

The League claims in a press release that this new approach offers “the competitive equity of a non-travel partner schedule while also offering the sustainability benefits of a travel-partner schedule contributing to a better student-athlete experience.”

The Colonials begin conference play on the road against Cleveland State on Nov. 29.

Their conference home opener is against Youngstown State on Dec. 3 at the UPMC Events Center. That begins three straight home conference games stretched over December to take them to the end of 2023.

When the calendar flips to 2024, January will become the busiest month for the Colonials this upcoming season. They play nine conference games, with five on the road, including three in a row in six days.

February is slightly less chaotic, with just seven conference games. Four of the first five are on the road before the Colonials return home for their final two conference and regular season games against Cleveland State and Northern Kentucky.

While the full schedule is not released yet, this fills in many blanks on the road to the post-season. The conference games accounted for 20 of the Colonials’ 29 games last season.

The Colonials are looking to improve from last season, where they won their first four games and six of their first seven before finishing with an 11-19 overall record.
