The men’s hockey team continues to bolster their roster as Providence transfer Luke Johnson announced he will be transferring to Robert Morris.

After spending the last four years of his career with the Friars, the Minnesota native will be joining the Colonials as a graduate senior.

Throughout his past two seasons, the 5-foot-11 blue liner played in only 16 games, including only three in 2022-23.

However, in his first two seasons with the Friars, the left-handed defenseman appeared in a total of 49 games.

Throughout his four years with Providence, Johnson has collected 35 blocked shots to go along with 10 points, three goals and seven assists.

Before beginning his college career, Johnson played two seasons in the USHL as a member of the Sioux City Musketeers. He registered 34 points during his time with the team and had the honor of being named Captain in his second year.

He also earned a gold medal as a member of Team USA at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge.

Luke Johnson provides crucial veteran experience and much needed depth to the Colonials’ defense.
