Former Robert Morris University goaltender Francis Marotte has signed with the Dundee Stars of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in Scotland after splitting last season with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Allen Americans of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

Marotte tended the crease for RMU from 2016-2019. In his three seasons as a Colonial, he would put up a record of 50-44-8 with a .918 overall save percentage and an overall goals-against average of 2.49.

After his junior season at Robert Morris, Marotte transferred to Clarkson University. He would put up a 23-8-3 record, a .938 save percentage, and 1.78 goals against average for an overall college stat line of 73-52-11 with a .923 save percentage and 2.31 goals against average.

These stats would earn him a chance in the AHL with the Bridgepoint Sound Tigers, where he would play two games before being assigned to the Allen Americans of the ECHL. In the most recent season, Marotte would again split the season between the AHL and the ECHL, this time with the San Diego Gulls and the Allen Americans.

Marotte will continue his professional hockey career in Dundee, Scotland, with the Stars.
