The 2022 fall schedule for the Robert Morris men’s soccer team has been released, and the Colonials are ready to get to work after finishing last season with an overall record of 5-11-1. The Colonials are prepared to take the field to come back strong.

Before they begin their conference campaign, they will have a chance to warm up with two exhibition matches, one nearby and one at home. The Colonials will take a trip to visit Pitt to get their feet wet on Aug. 13. The last time these teams met was back in 2017 when Robert Morris fell 2-1, so both the Panthers and Colonials should have a chance at getting ready for their seasons.

After they visit Oakland, they will return home on Aug. 20 for one more warm-up match against Mount St. Mary’s University. In 2019 they took the win 1-0, hoping to yield a similar result during this preseason matchup.

Things get real on Aug. 25 when the Colonials hit the road to open their season at West Virginia University. This is just a year before their last meetup with the Mountaineers, which occurred on Aug. 26, 2021, when the Colonials fell 2-0. Robert Morris aims to come back with a potent offense and seek to put some shots in the goal throughout their season, beginning at WVU.

Their home opener will take place against a neighboring school, Duquesne University, which was a close 2-3 score the last time they met. Following this matchup is an on-the-road match versus Xavier on Sept. 4, then Northern Kentucky at home on Sept. 10, which will be their first matchup against another team in the Horizon League this season. RMU will have nine matchups with their fellow teams in the league, hoping to do well and come in strong to the Horizon League Tournament beginning on Nov. 6.

Milwaukee will host the Colonials in Wisconsin on Sept. 17; then, they will return home for their next two matches versus Saint Francis on Sept. 21 and Purdue Fort Wayne on Sept. 24.

They then go back on the road, this time to Michigan to take on Oakland on Sept. 28, before they head back home to Moon to welcome Wright State on Oct. 1. The Colonials’ next three matches will be on the road: Oct. 4 at Marshall University, Oct. 12 at Cleveland State, and Oct. 19 at Virginia Military Institute.

RMU will finish up home-away-home against Detroit Mercy on Oct. 22, at Green Bay on Oct. 29, and back home versus IUPUI on Nov. 2.

Lots of anticipation is brewing for this team; after some hard work and excellent results in offseason play, it should be a great lineup for the Colonials this season.
