The early signing period has come and gone and with that, the Robert Morris football program added nine players to its roster.

With that being said, let’s take a look at who the Colonials have signed.

Donavan Wilson, LB – Nease High School, St. Augustine, FL

Wilson is a versatile player coming into this program, he stands at 6’1″ and 190 pounds. In his senior season at Nease, he provided well on offense, garnering 38 receptions for 548 yards and 5 touchdowns.

On defense, he also provided 52 tackles, with 8 of them being for loss. He also recorded 2 sacks and 6 QB hurries, and three interceptions.

Wilson provides a high-energy player who can make a big play when one is needed.

JJ Ruffin, DE – La Salle High School, Cincinnati, OH

JJ Ruffin was a monster on the D-line for La Salle. In his senior season, he posted 70 tackles and also had 7.5 sacks as well.

He is a disruptor on defense, and looking at some of his tapes you can see that he was double-teamed a lot and it didn’t matter.

The Colonials are getting a monster on defense and should be excited for Ruffin to take the field.

Zach Tanner, QB – Auburndale High School, Winter Haven, FL

Standing in at 6’2″, Tanner is a dual-threat quarterback that the Colonials need to compete in the Big South Conference.

Tanner posted respectable 2,042 passing yards in his senior season. Also, Tanner had almost 400 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns to his name as well.

The quarterback spot is wide open for this Colonials team, so it should be an interesting competition come next season.

Nasir Shabazz, DL – Irvington High School, Irvington, N.J.

Shabazz brings an explosive game to the Colonials. The ability to clog the middle and provide no running room for the opposing team is a big positive that Shabazz brings to the playing field.

In his senior season, he posted 48.5 tackles and had 4 sacks to his name.

Michell Robinson Jr., LB – Hillard Bradley High School, Hillard Bradley, OH

Robinson gets up the field quickly and into the backfield of the opposing team. He has a high motor and attacks offensive linemen with a purpose.

He should fit in nicely in the defensive scheme for RMU.

Jermarian Jackson, CB – Plant City High School, Plant City, FL

Jackson is a solid corner who plays decently in both man-to-man coverage and in-zone coverage.

Jackson had a good senior season posting 56 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble.

He also had 9 tackles for loss on the season as well, he’s a good addition to the cornerback room for Robert Morris.

Griffin LaRue, DB – Richland High School, Johnstown, PA

LaRue is just an absolute beast on the football field. The Johnstown native is coming into the program and is one to keep an eye on as he nearly posted 1,000 yards receiving and also had 6 interceptions on defense.

Tim Stinson, OL – Lake Gibson High School, Lakeland, FL

Stinson provides a big body on the offensive line. Stinson played multiple positions on the line at Lake Gibson High School and provides good depth for the Colonials at the offensive line.

Yann Lekomo, OL – Northwest High School, Germantown, MD

Lekomo is another good addition to the offensive lineman room here at Robert Morris. Lekomo is another versatile player who can play all over the line will help this Colonials team protect the quarterback.
