Kaoru Hayashi and Emily Rocco both received recognition from the Horizon League for their efforts in the 2021 season.

Emily Rocco was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman team following her first season at RMU. The rookie from Upper Saint Clair finished the season with the third-most goals on the team with two and was also the only freshman to record multiple goals for RMU.

Rocco was one of four players to start all 19 games for RMU and was the only freshman to do so.

Rocco got her first collegiate goal when she opened scoring for RMU’s overtime win against Mount St. Mary’s on August 21. She got her second goal of the season in the Colonials 4-2 win over Hampton two weeks later.

She finished the season with 16 shots and five shots on goal.

Kaoru Hayashi received Second Team All-League honors for the second consecutive season. The redshirt junior was a major part of the Colonials defense while also being a huge contributor to the offense.

The Ama, Japan native, who is two years removed from transferring in from Snow College (Utah) finished the season as the teams’ second-leading goal scorer, recording two goals and four assists.
