#FormerColonialWatch: Malik Petteway joins Team MDA Muscle in their bid for The Basketball Tournament

COLUMBUS, OHIO– A former member of Robert Morris men’s basketball will look to shine in The Basketball Tournament 2021 as Malik Petteway has joined Team MDA Muscle in their bid to play.

Petteway, a power forward, spent two seasons in Moon Township after transferring from Northwest Florida State, a JuCo. During his time at RMU, he averaged 8.5 points and 5.4 rebounds, collecting 260 total rebounds in 48 games coming mostly off the bench.

Petteway blossomed during his senior season, averaging a career-high in points-per-game (9.3), including a career-high in 26 against Mississippi Valley State on November 17, 2018. His career-high in rebounds was 14 against Duquesne on November 19, 2017.

Team MDA Muscle is bidding to join the Columbus region of the tournament and will be raising awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The 2021 tournament will feature 64 teams and will take place in Wichita, Kansas, Charleston, West Virginia, Columbus and Peoria, Illinois, all culminating in the championship weekend in Dayton, Ohio. The tournament is 5-on-5 and single elimination. The selection show airs on June 21 on TBT’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
