While the transfer portal initially has not been kind to Robert Morris during the offseason, they received another transfer to come their way on Tuesday when they netted the commitment of Toledo forward Mattia Acunzo, per ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein.

Acunzo, a six-foot-eight forward from Sardinia, Italy, no stranger to the area, as he went to high school at Kennedy Catholic in Washington, Pennsylvania. He averaged 12.2 points during his senior season at Kennedy Catholic.
Acunzo appeared in 30 games, all off the bench, for the Rockets in his freshman season. He averaged 5.9 points-per-game and 3.5 rebounds-per-game during his only season in Toledo after medically redshirting during the 2019-20 season. Toledo played to a 21-9 record overall and 15-4 mark in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), losing their opening-round NIT matchup to Richmond.
He brings more forward depth to RMU who has lost both AJ Bramah and Cameron Wilbon at the forward position over the last few months to the transfer portal.
Robert Morris finished last season at 4-15 and 3-12 in the Horizon League, falling in the conference tournament to Detroit Mercy.
