Men’s hockey signs four recruits

MOON TOWNSHIP- This week, the Robert Morris men’s hockey team announced the signings of four recruits in the class of 2020. The team announced that David Larfrance, Noah West, Gavin Gulash and Kyler Head will all be joining the Colonials next season.

Lafrance enters Neville Island as a left-shooting defender out of Ottawa, Canada. RMU’s first announced signee has found offensive success to complement his defensive efforts. Lafrance has 39 points, eight goals and 31 assists in 91 Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) games with the Rockland Nationals Junior A-Team.

Noah West joins the Colonials from Pittsboro, Indiana and brings a strong force in net. The goaltender has advanced his career coming up with the Chicago Fury and Oakland Grizzlies, both AAA hockey organizations, before moving on to the Jamestown Rebels in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) last season. West has recorded a .910 save percentage in 41 junior games.

Gulash, meanwhile, brings a key scoring threat the Colonials can benefit from. The 6’2’’ forward from Red Bank, New Jersey improved from 13 goals in his first season competing in the NAHL to 26 in his second year in the league. He added to his success scoring a total of six goals in 10 playoff games for the New Jersey Titans.

Finally, RMU’s fourth signing comes from Kyler Head. The Malone, New York forward will bring his physical 6’4’’ frame to the ice coming off of an improving 2019-20 season. Like Gulash, Head also plays for the Titans and has found improved success in his third season in the organization. He has recorded 22 points thanks to 10 goals in only 19 NAHL games this season, already topping his totals from a year ago.

These four players will jump into a program full of success and promise that is having themselves a solid 2019 season to date.
