In case you didn’t follow what happened with RMU sports over the weekend, here is a quick round-up to bring you up to speed on the games that RMU Sentry Media couldn’t get a reporter at.

12/15/18:

Men’s Basketball: RMU – 50; Rider – 69

The RMU men’s basketball team (4-7) continued what is now a four-game losing streak in which they lost their last game this past Saturday to the Rider University Broncs (4-3) by a final of 69-50. The Broncs gave the Colonials an early letdown when they started off with a 9-1 lead. RMU began to slowly climb its way back to even the score, but the closest difference was five points at 11:38 when Jon Williams scored for Robert Morris with a 3-pointer. After that, Rider ran towards the end of the half with a 36-23 lead.

The second half wasn’t much better for RMU. The Colonials again were unable to tie up the game or take the lead. The Colonials closed the gap to 10 points at 16:26 when Matty McConnell had scored two points on a jumper from the paint. After that, the Broncs finished off the half until they were the named the winner of the game with a 69-50 win over Robert Morris. RMU standout Josh Williams continued to shine after he had 38 minutes of play, six field goals, six 3-pointers, two free throws and scored 20 points in the game. Robert Morris travels to play the University of Louisville Cardinals (8-3) on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
