Janelle Evans picks up her third CHA Rookie of the Week. This is the seventh time a Colonial has won the award this season.

It’s a hat-trick for Janelle Evans.

The freshman forward picked up CHA Rookie of the Week for the third time this season following this weekend’s performances against Penn State.

The Colonials welcomed the Nittany Lions to Neville Island this weekend for an exciting matchup that did not disappoint. The first game ended in a 4-4 tie, in which Evans scored to tie the game in the second period.

The next day, Evans would be the X-factor against the 14th-ranked Penn State, scoring two goals and an assist, including scoring the overtime winner on a breakaway in a 4-3 win.

This is back-to-back weeks a Colonial has won Rookie of the Week, an award that has been consistent for Robert Morris as fellow freshman Alaina Giampietro has picked up the award four times. These are also a part of the 14 awards RMU has picked up in total this season.

With the win, the Colonials have clinched the playoffs and will look to close out this season against Lindenwood starting Feb. 16
