Robert Morris women’s lacrosse midfielder Mackenzie Bell was awarded Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors Tuesday for outstanding performance against Eastern Michigan.

The junior collected her season-high four ground balls, caused a team-high three turnovers, and collected two draw controls and also collected her first goal of the season against the Eagles on Wednesday. Bell also collected her first goal of the season.

Bell’s honor marks the fourth time Robert Morris has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, with Jamie Keller bringing home the previous three.

The Catonsville, Md. native has produced for the Colonials all season, as she is second on the team in caused turnovers with 15. She also ranks third on the team with 19 ground balls. Bell has been just one of six players to start in every game so far this season.

Bell will look to continue her impressive performance on Wednesday, as the Colonials are set to take on Akron at 5 p.m.
