Battling some rough elements and a tough Youngstown State team this past weekend, Robert Morris women’s lacrosse took home a hard-fought victory, but that is not all they took home as the Colonials swept the MAC weekly award once again. Colleen Tifft won Offensive Player of the Week for the conference with her teammate Jamie Keller winning Defensive Player of the Week.

This is the second time this season where both awards were given to two Colonials.

Tifft took home the Offensive Player of the Week honor following her five-point outing against Youngstown State. The five-point performance was a new career-high for the senior, where four of the five points were goals which ties a career high in a single game. Tifft’s play has pushed her to the team lead in points with 21.

On the other end of the field, graduate student Jamie Keller brings home her third Defensive Player of the Week award on the season. Keller stopped nine shots that she faced including six in the first half. Keller would preserve the lead late for the Colonials with four saves on eight shots in the final 30 minutes.

This is Keller’s sixth MAC Defensive Player of the Week award in her career.

Tifft, Keller and the rest of the team will look to repeat their performances on Wednesday as they welcome Kent State to Joe Walton Stadium where they look to improve to 2-0 in conference play this season.
