The Robert Morris women’s hockey team continues to use the transfer portal to its advantage. The Colonials had just one goalie on their roster for the 2023-24 season until Sunday afternoon as Merrimack transfer Emma Gorski has committed to play her fifth year of collegiate hockey for the Colonials.

Gorski is a grad transfer with four seasons of collegiate experience at the goalie position for the Warriors. In her four years, she has played in 83 games.

Gorski posted a career-high 56 saves in the final game of the 2022-23 season with Merrimack, and had one shutout last season against Holy Cross.

Her most efficient season came in 2021-22, where she started in 33 of the 34 finishing with a 3.28 goals against average, and posted a save percentage of .893.

Her 2,015 minutes played was good for second in Hockey East that season, and her three shutouts put her fifth in the league in that category.

The Wallaceburg, Ontario native comes to RMU with several accolades. During the 2021-22 season, she was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week twice. Her 915 saves that season was second overall in Hockey East.

Gorski will join Maggie Hatch as the other goaltender on the roster thus far. Hatch joined the Colonials prior to the 2022-23 academic year.

Head coach Logan Bittle continues to utilize the transfer portal to his benefit as the Colonials continue to add pieces for the upcoming season.
