2020-21 Robert Morris Women’s Hockey: Where Are They Now?

As the Women’s Frozen Four just wrapped up, we look back at just two years ago when the Robert Morris women’s hockey team became CHA Champions and made it to the Frozen Four tournament. Following the announcement of disbanding the hockey program the Robert Morris, players would spread across the globe to bring their assets to new teams. Here is where each player from the 2021 team went and what they have been up to:

#1 Raygan Kirk

Kirk went on to transfer to Ohio State University where the Buckeyes would win the 2021-22 National Championship. She completed her Senior year at Ohio State appearing in 11 games and winning eight of her outings. She boasted a .912 Save Percentage and a 2.03 goals against average.

#3 Gillian Thompson

Thompson remained at Robert Morris.

#4 Ally Hebert

Hebert remained at Robert Morris.

#5 Emily Curlett

Curlett would transfer to Ohio State for her Senior season where she would become a National Champion. Currently, she is a member of the PWHPA where she represents Team Adidas.

#7 Wasyn Rice

Rice remained at Robert Morris

#9 Maggy Burbidge

Burbidge would transfer to St. Francis Xavier in Nova Scotia. Burbidge had a stellar 2022-23 season as she recorded 25 goals and 47 points in just 24 games.

#10 Lexi Templeman

The former Colonial captain would join Kirk and Curlett in the transfer portal, landing at Ohio State where she would become a National Champion. In the 2022-23 season, Templeman would go pro and play for the Toronto Six in the PHF. Templeman would score five goals and 13 points in 25 games. The Toronto Six would go on to win the Isobel Cup.

#12 Leah Marino

Marino would go to the PHF following her three years at Robert Morris. Marino would spend a season with the Toronto Six before joining the Metropolitan Riveters for the 2022-23 season.

#16 Michaela Boyle

Boyle would transfer home to Boston College to play her final year of college hockey. Boyle would then join the PHF with the Buffalo Beauts and play 16 games in the 2022-23 season.

#17 Molly Pedone

Pedone would transfer to NCAA division lll Utica College where she scored seven goals and had five assists in her 2022-23 season.

#18 Mackenzie Krasowski

Krasowski would transfer to Ontario Tech University where she recently played her Graduate Senior year and score six goals on the season.

#19 Marah Wagner

Wagner transferred to RPI where she spent her last two seasons. During her time at RPI Wagner scored 15 goals and had 23 assists.

#21 Kyleigh Hanzlik

Hanzlik would transfer to the University of Minnesota where she would play in eight games. Hanzlik has not played hockey at a competitive level in the last year.

#22 Emilie Harley

The Colonial alternate captain went to the PHF after her four years at Robert Morris. Harley would play a season with the Buffalo Beauts and now is currently on the Metropolitan Riveters.

#23 Ellie Marcovsky

The Pittsburgh native Marcovsky would transfer to Princeton and has spent her last two years with the Tigers. Marcovsky would play in 11 games in the 2022-23 season.

#24 Anjelica Diffendal

Fellow Pittsburgh native Diffendal would graduate from Robert Morris and go to the PHF where she has spent the last two seasons with the Buffalo Beauts. In her time in Buffalo she has scored six goals and nine assists.

#25 Joelle Fiala

Fiala would return to Canada and transfer to the University of British Columbia. There Fiala has played 48 games in her two years recording 10 goals and 25 assists along with a goal in the playoffs this season.

#26 Anna Fairman

Fairman would move across the globe and play in China with Shenzhen KRS in the Russian women’s league. Fairman would also represent her host country, China, in the 2022 Olympic Games. This season Fairman returned to the States and now plays for LIU. In 13 games she scored a goal and had two assists.

#27 Chace Sperling

Sperling brought an inspiring story to Robert Morris where she recovered from a horrific lower-body injury. Since then she transferred to St. Cloud State University. Sperling would play 29 games and record an assist. As of March 6 Sperling entered the transfer portal and per her Instagram bio she plans to return to Robert Morris.

#30 Molly Singewald

Singewald completed her four years at Robert Morris. In her senior season, Singewald would pick up three shutouts in four games. Since her time at Robert Morris, Singewald has not played at a competitive level.

# 31 Arielle DeSmet

DeSmet would stay in the CHA and transfer to Syracuse University. In the 2021-22 season, DeSmet would be the CHA goaltender of the year with a .936 Save Percentage and a 2.03 Goals Against Average. DeSmet would start in 34 games in the 2022-23 season for Syracuse in her graduate year.

Coach Paul Colontino

Since his 10 years with Robert Morris Head Coach Paul Colontino would move on to Bishop Kearney Selects Hockey where he is the Vice President of Hockey Administration, and the BK Selects Girls 19U Head Coach.
