On Tuesday, the Mid-American Conference (MAC) released the preseason head coaches poll and for the second straight season, the Colonials were slotted in the No. 1 spot.

Robert Morris has claimed the top spot of the head coaches poll two out of the three seasons the MAC has been around.

This season’s coaches poll is shaped as such:

  1. Robert Morris (46)
  2. Central Michigan (43)
  3. Kent State (32)
  4. Youngstown (31)
  5. Akron (18)
  6. Eastern Michigan (13)
  7. Detroit Mercy (13)

The Colonials finished the regular season in a three-way tie with Central Michigan and Youngstown State before falling to the Chippewas in the MAC Championship Game.

Midfielder Jenna Irwin returns for her sophomore year after leading the team with 34 goals, along with senior Julia Koterwas, as she was second in points with 42.

The Colonials will look to reclaim the MAC throne as their season begins this weekend when they head into the Buckeye State to open their season against Ohio State this Saturday at 3 p.m.
