Being a freshman can be hard, especially as a student-athlete. But that did not affect freshman Malia Kearns as she was recently named to the 2022 Horizon League Women’s Soccer All-Freshman Team.

From the start, Kearns has been a force to be reckoned with as she was one of three Colonials to start in all 18 games this season. She received her first career assist in a 2-1 win against St. Francis and her first career goal in a 7-1 clean sweep against Hampton.

A Penn-Trafford product, Kearns ends her first season as one of the leading scorers on the team with two goals, three assists and seven points. She also had 21 shots and nine shots on goal while playing almost 1,300 minutes.

She was awarded a spot on the 2022 #HLWSOC All-Freshman Team with 11 other freshmen.
