MOON TOWNSHIP— Earlier this week, the women’s lacrosse team announced via Twitter that it had named its co-captains for the upcoming season. Goaltender Katelyn Miller, attack Mackenzie Gandy, and midfielder Hannah Miller will all be captains next season.

Katelyn Miller will return to the crease for her fifth season, and her third as co-captain. The goaltender has not missed a start in her career, starting all 60 games since 2017. She ranks first all-time in wins with 37, second all-time in saves with 469, and is the career leader in save percentage and goals-against average, including a single-season record of 9.58 in 2018.

Mackenzie Gandy also returns for her fifth season at attack and her second as co-captain. In her career, she has been one of the more premiere offensive players for RMU, recording 106 points in the last two seasons alone and is a welcome addition for this Colonials offense joining a new division. She sits just four points away from setting the all-time RMU women’s lacrosse points record.

Hannah Miller is set to go for her senior season. The midfielder was named co-captain for the first time this season. In 41 career games with Robert Morris, she has scored 24 points; and will look to anchor the center of the pitch for the upcoming season.

RMU is set to join the brand-new Mid-American Conference (MAC) women’s lacrosse division alongside Akron, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Kent State, and Youngstown State.
