RADFORD, VA.– After winning their past three games, the Robert Morris women’s lacrosse team (3-1) heads to the Old Dominion state to take on Radford (1-5) on Tuesday, and Liberty (2-3) on Thursday.

Recapping RMU:

On Saturday, the Colonials hosted the Bucknell Bison (2-4), where they won 11-8. The Bison climbed out to a 6-1 lead twenty minutes into the first half. Fortunately for the Colonials, as they outscored the Bison 10-2 the remainder of the game. Melanie Gandy had six points in the game (3g, 3a), while her sister Mackenzie had four points (2g, 2a). Senior Katelyn Miller was in net for the Colonials, where she made eight saves on 16 shots.

Previewing Radford:

After winning their first game of the year against the Saint Francis Red Flash (1-4), the Highlanders have lost their past five games, including their previous game against La Salle (2-3) by a score of 12-5. Margaret Gleason led the Highlanders with one goal and one assist. On the season, Amanda Paino leads the team with nine points (7g, 2a).

Previewing Liberty:

The Flames are coming off a tough 18-9 loss to the Richmond Spiders (6-0). Richmond scored the first five goals in the match and held a 12-3 lead at one point in the match. Liberty cut the Spider lead to 13-7, but the Spiders held on for the win. Mia Toscana led the Flames with four points (3g, 1a) in the game.

Players to watch:

Melanie Gandy (RMU)- Gandy is currently leading the Colonials with 19 points (9g, 10a) on the year, and added six to her total against the Bison.

Mackenzie Gandy (RMU)- Melanie’s sister is also no slouch, only one point behind her with 18 (10g, 8a). The two sisters make for a lethal combination on the field for the Colonials.

Amanda Paino (Radford)- Paino, a senior from Minisink Valley, New York, currently leads the Highlanders with nine points in six games. With seven of the nine coming as goals, Paino knows how to put the ball in the net for Radford.

Anna Keebler (Liberty)- Keebler is a player that knows how to score for the Flames. In five games, she has 22 goals, including a six-goal explosion against Furman (2-3) earlier this season.

Preditctions:

The Colonials roll into Virginia and come out with two wins, beating Radford 18-7, and Liberty by a score of 14-12.
