Last week it was Jess Martin-Brown, now it is her teammate Taleah Scott, sophomore midfielder, who takes home the prize of Female Student-Athlete of the Week. Robert Morris field hockey finished last weekend with a sweep of Appalachian State by a victory of 3-1 and defeating St. Louis 4-1.
The Crookwell, Australia native tallied two goals and one assist last weekend, which earned her the Northeast Conference Player of the Week honors.
“It gives me a little bit more confidence heading to next weekend. I wasn’t expecting it, but it was really good,” said Scott.
She weighed in on the difference from year-to-year and the success last weekend.
“It was so different to compare to last year. We got the tips in and it was just so much better with that forward movement. There are some things that we need to improve on, but we got great positives to push us through the weekend”.
The Colonials are now riding a 3-game win streak heading into play against Kent State and Lock Haven respectively starting tomorrow at 2:00 P.M.
Scott still believes there is still more work to be done. A familiar playing surface will be in their favor.
“We got a little more improvements to make especially to the defense. Hopefully we can just the goals this time nice and early. We’re on Astroturf again, so hopefully that will helps us out again.”
