Movember update Day 28

Including today, there are just three days left in the month of November which means the RMU men’s hockey team will only be growing their mustaches and raising money and awareness for Movember for another three days.

It is now day 28 of their efforts and they have currently raised $3,670 on their Movember page, Bobby Mo Bros.

Senior forward, Nick Chiavetta decided to join the cause and is glad he did, “I decided to join this team because years before this we all did the same thing and grew mustaches for the same cause except never took the initiative to raise money,” recalled Chiavetta.  “I wish we would have done it before because it’s amazing how much money we have raised in such a short amount of time.”

Men’s hockey captain, Trevor Lewis, is proud of the team for raising as much money as they have so far.  “It’s a crazy feeling, we weren’t really sure how much we were capable of raising and didn’t have a set dollar amount we were going for,” admitted Lewis.  ”But I think we have surpassed our expectations by a lot.”

Chiavetta is proud of the fact that the team has raised so much money so far.  “Knowing we have over 3,000 dollars is such a good feeling knowing you’re actually making a difference in the community,” said Chiavetta.  “I hope the team continues this tradition for years to come.”

Being a part of the Bobby Mo Bros Movember team has been a great team building experience for the Colonials.

Senior assistant captain, Brandon Blandina believes something like this will bring the team even closer than they already are.  “It’s been a good thing for the team. We are all family to each other aside from thing like Movember but it just brings us that much closer,” said Blandina.

“It has been a great way of doing some team building. All the guys participating are really enjoying it,” said Lewis.  “It’s something we can look back on and be proud of what we raised and also be able to laugh about how ridiculous we looked.”
