RMU reaches radio deal with 970 AM ESPN
Robert Morris University and Clear Channel Communications have reached an agreement to broadcast all football, men’s hockey, and men’s basketball games on 970 AM ESPN beginning this fall, and lasting through the 2015-16 academic year, the athletic department announced Thursday.
“We are absolutely delighted to be affiliated with one of the top sports radio stations in Pittsburgh,” Athletic Director Craig Coleman said. “Thanks to 970 AM ESPN now being the new home of the Colonials, we are excited about expanding our brand recognition in the Pittsburgh market. We appreciate the recognition that we have evolved into a major player on the city’s sports landscape.”
In addition to transmitting the contests, 970 AM ESPN will also broadcast weekly programing that will feature the head coaches, as well as players, from all three teams. These spotlight radiocasts will be similar to “The Andy Toole Show,” which aired during the 2012-2013 basketball season at various Pittsburgh area Buffalo Wild Wings locations.
