MOON TOWNSHIP– On Tuesday, Robert Morris women’s lacrosse starting goalkeeper Jamie Keller was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Week, following her performance against the UMBC Retrievers on Saturday.

The graduate senior is the reigning MAC Goalkeeper of the Year and it is Keller’s fourth time being honored by the conference, with three Defensive Player of the Week awards coming last season.

Despite a 15-7 loss to UMBC, Keller played well, recording a career-high sixteen saves on 31 shots on goal. The Retrievers kept the shots coming all afternoon long with 44 total shot attempts, which was a season high in shots faced for Keller. She also led the Colonials with three ground balls in the match.

Keller currently ranks fifth in the MAC in both total saves and saves per match, with 31 and 7.75, respectively. She is eighth in the conference in goals-against average, and her .388 save percentage is seventh in the conference. Keller has faced 113 shots on the year so far.

The Colonials will look to record their first win of the season on Wednesday, March 8 at noon when they head down to Boiling Springs, N.C. to take on the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs.
