The Robert Morris women’s lacrosse team has named graduate student Kelsey Nelson and senior Colleen Tifft as their captains going into the 2023 season.

The Colonials are coming off of a successful second season in the MAC as they competed in the championship game for the second straight year, winning the title in 2021.

Both captains for the Colonials played in all 13 contests last year when they scored a combined 30 goals for Robert Morris University. They also combined for 42 total points on the season.

Colonials midfielder Kelsey Nelson ended the year with 11 goals and six assists for 17 total points.

Also, midfielder Colleen Tifft ended the year with 19 goals and six assists for 25 points. Last year, Tifft registered a season-high ten shots on goal twice against Youngstown State on Apr. 30 and Central Michigan on May 7.

Nelson, Tifft, and the rest of the team look to continue their success in the MAC as they begin their season on Feb. 10 against Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, at 3 p.m.
