Brett, who hails from Kingston, Jamaica, had a storied career while donning the red, white, and blue of RMU. During his four seasons as a Colonial, Brett tallied 42 goals, 16 assists, and 100 points during his RMU career in addition to taking home plenty of postseason hardware.
From 2012-15, Brett was named NEC Player of the Year three times and was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter as a Colonial. He also became the first Colonial in program history to make the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I All-America Team, as well as a three-time member of the NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team. Brett led the NEC in points for three straight years and led the NCAA in goals in 2013 and points in 2014.
Following his RMU career, Brett was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft and 40th overall by the Portland Timbers, making his MLS debut in May in a game against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
After spending a few seasons with the Timbers’ second team, Brett returned to the Pittsburgh area to play two seasons with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship, tallying 21 goals in 67 games as a Riverhound. He joined the Birmingham Legion in 2019 and continues to play for the team.
Brett joins former football guard Hank Fraley as former Colonials to earn Mount Rushmore honors over the past week, adding to an already stellar Colonials resume for Brett.
