PITTSBURGH — Robert Morris women’s hockey only played three games total in the month of December. All of this aside Jaycee Gebhard is still good at hockey. The junior tallied four goals along with a plus three rating and a solid 37 faceoff wins all in three games.

All of this scoring has earned Gebhard some awards this season. Most recently she was named the player of the month for both the CHA (College Hockey America) and the WHCA (Western Collegiate Hockey Association). Gebhard is very familiar with the CHA title having now won three months in a row astoundingly.

The WHCA award is different though as this marks the first time a RMU colonial has ever won such of an award. As a true leader and goalscorer, Gebhard credits her teammates for her success and is more focused on winning a regular season title than anything else.

“It’s always nice to play with good linemates like Lexi and Amber, hopefully we can all keep scoring and the team can keep scoring and we can win another regular season title” stated Gebhard.

As for the season as a whole, Gebhard has an astonishing 33 points in 22 games, 15 being goals and 18 being assists. Gebhard leads the team with power-play goals and game winning goals, both with five. She also had herself a 14 game point streak that stretched from October 20th to December 7th. She also leads the CHA in every major offensive statistic and in terms of the NCAA as a whole, she is tied for sixth in goals, tied for fifth in assists and sits fifth in points overall.

Gebhard and the rest of the Colonials got back into action after five weeks off when they fell to Syracuse last night by the score of 3-2 in overtime.
