RMU (9-11, NEC 3-5) 2 LIU Brooklyn (11-7, NEC 4-1) 3: The Colonials continued to struggle with a finishing in fifth-set situations with a five-set loss to LIU Brooklyn Friday night. RMU started the match on a bad note with an extra point loss in the first set (26-24) and sadly kept the trend with the second set as well. However, Robert Morris persevered to win the third set (25-21) and then the fourth (25-23). This then forced a deciding fifth set. The Colonials struggled and ultimately lost the fifth and final set (13-15). Leaders for the night for RMU were: Taylor Lord with 20 kills, as well as 22 digs; Maria Alfano with five blocks; and Brianna Frakes with 49 assists.
The Colonials’ next game is at the Bryant Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
