The Colonials improved to 2-0 in NEC play Saturday after their 11-9 victory over The Mount.

RMU 11 (4-5, NEC 2-0), Mount St. Mary’s 9 (4-3, NEC 0-1): The Colonials took on Mount St. Mary’s Saturday afternoon in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The first quarter was back-and-forth action and The Mount held a one point lead over RMU 6-5 at the end of the opening quarter. However, RMU opened the second quarter with a three goal run as Luke Laszkiewicz, Eric Rankel and Eric Wales gave their team the 8-6 edge. Mount St. Mary’s then scored two goals to tie the contest 8-8 but RMU used their second three goal run of the game to grab a three goal lead at 11-8. The Mount scored their ninth goal with 2:56 remaining in the game but Robert Morris held off their opponent to stay unbeaten in conference play. Laszkiewicz led RMU’s offense with four goals . Goalie Alex Heger picked up the win in net for the Colonials making 12 saves on the day.
