According to multiple reports, including ESPN and the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Robert Morris men’s basketball head coach Andy Toole has reached an agreement on an extension of his contract, keeping him in Moon Township, Pa. through the 2019-20 season.

After leading the Colonials to their first NCAA Tournament victory in over 30 years, rumors circulated regarding Toole’s possible departure from the program. He supposedly was considering becoming the head coach at Fordham University of the A-10 conference. Reports over the weekend suggested Toole had turned the offer down.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, RMU’s athletic department made this statement regarding Toole’s contract: “We’re in active negotiations with Andy for an extension right now and should have an official announcement in the coming days.”

This announcement comes shortly after NEC Rookie of the Year Marcquise Reed was given his release from the program, which left far more questions than answers.

In his five seasons at Robert Morris, Toole has led the team to two regular season NEC titles, two NEC Tournament championships, two NIT appearances and two NCAA Tournament berths.

Toole’s contract was previously slated for renewal after the 2017-18 season.
