Owens receives national recognition after record weekend in North Dakota
September 8, 2014
Robert Morris freshman running back Rameses Owens is racking up the awards this week after his 237 all-purpose yard performance against North Dakota last Saturday.
Via the Northeast Conference football twitter account @NECFootball, Owens was named The Sports Network’s National FCS Freshman of the Week after rushing 39 times for 199 yards and a touchdown.
He also received conference Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors.
Owens’ breakout night in Week 2 helped the Robert Morris offense establish a ground game that was nowhere to be found in the team’s opener.
He’ll look to continue his success next weekend as the Colonials travel to Easton, PA to take on Lafayette Sept. 13.
