RMU women’s hockey suffers fifth loss of the season
Although its performance was outstanding earlier in the week, the Robert Morris women’s hockey program fell short in a 4-2 loss today against the Lindenwood Lions.
The first period did not go as planned, as the Colonials dug themselves a deep hole, allowing the puck to go past the goal line twice.
One of the goals came from one of the four power plays that the Lions received. Lindenwood scored on two of these power plays, one coming in first period and the other in the third period.
The hole remained the same for the Colonials in the second frame as the Lions scored for the third time of the night, but senior forward Thea Imbrogno sent the puck flying past the goaltender for her tenth tally of the season.
Unfortunately, Robert Morris could not rally from the two point deficit.
Both the Colonials and the Lions found the back of the net as the period came to an end with RMU behind by two goals. Both teams scored on a power play and Imbrogno came up with her eleventh goal of her season.
The Colonials look to move past this game and return to their winning ways as they host Syracuse this Friday at 7 p.m.
