With the inaugural ASUN conference season approaching, the Robert Morris men’s lacrosse team was selected third in the preseason coaches poll.

Air Force and Utah are tied for first atop the poll. Bellarmine, Detroit Mercy, and Cleveland State followed RMU to round out the poll.

Along with the poll placement, a trio of Colonials earned preseason honors.

Graduate senior Corson Kealey was tabbed as the ASUN Preseason Player of the Year, along with one of three attackmen to be selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Last season, Kealey registered 21 goals and garnered 26 total points.

Midfielder Jake Boudreau received preseason Midfielder of Year hardware and received a Preseason All-Conference Team nod. Senior defenseman Owen Down joins his graduate senior teammates on the list with a spot on the All-Conference Team.

The Colonials joined the ASUN Conference in February of 2021. Last spring, the Colonials competed as an independent, in which they finished with a 7-6 record.

Coming into this season, the Colonials are led by newly-named head coach Craig McDonald, who was named to the head position on Sept. 20, 2021. McDonald worked on the UMass coaching staff for the past seven seasons.

Robert Morris begins the season on Sat. Jan. 29, when they scrimmage Seton Hill. The regular season campaign commences in Durham, North Carolina, highly ranked Duke on Feb. 4.
