While their season ended a few days ago in Youngstown, Kaoru Hayashi received some recognition this afternoon as she was named to the All-Horizon League Second Team.

Hayashi, who transferred over from Snow College (JUCO) in Ephraim, Utah, was a welcome addition to the Colonials’ offensive fold this season.

In her nine games this season, she was tied for the lead in shots with 22, sharing the honor with Sheridan Reid. She had a knack for picking up offensive chances during her first season in Moon Township, leading the team with 11 shots on goal.

Nine Colonials contributed a goal for the team this season, and Hayashi scored her first against Detroit Mercy on March 24. She contributed two shots on goal against Youngstown State this week for her highest total of the season.

Other members of the second team are:

Valentine Pursey, IUPUI, CM

Morgan Rymer, IUPUI, M

MacKenzie Schill, Milwaukee, F

Taylor Hattori, Milwaukee, CM

Lily Menssen, Northern Kentucky, D

Lindsey Meyer, Northern Kentucky, M

Chloe Mills, Northern Kentucky, D

Gabrielle Fanning, Purdue Fort Wayne, D

Grace Haines, UIC, D

Elaina LaMacchia, Milwaukee, GK

RMU finished the season 1-8 overall and in-conference in their first Horizon League season.
