MOON TOWNSHIP– The Robert Morris men’s lacrosse team (4-5) will be hosting Cleveland State as they look to pick up a win and start and winning streak. The Colonials come off their last game with a win in the Crown Lacrosse Classic against Jacksonville (5-4, 2-0 SOCON). The Vikings (2-4) are looking to stop the bleeding as they enter with a losing streak.

Recapping the Colonials

The Colonials come into this one in a weird spot, at times this year they have kept up with some of the best teams in the country, as they battled hard against #1 Duke and lost to #9 Virginia 14-12. Other times the team looks lost following a great performance against UVA, they lost 19-13 to Drexel. There is some room for improvement and the Colonials are looking for it against CSU.

Scouting the Vikings

The Vikings enter this one in a bad spot. They have dropped four out of their last six games, but they are coming off a victory over VMI. The Vikings just can’t seem to get the scoring going as they have only scored over 10 goals twice this season. If they are going to win this one, they are going to score a lot.

Players to Watch

Ryan Smith (RMU) – Smith has had an amazing season so far with 33 goals and 16 assists in just nine games. Smith has been one of the best players on the field for the Colonials this season.

Jimmy Perkins (RMU) – Perkins has been one of the best Colonials on the field, as he has scored goals (second on the team), and 15 assists in nine games. Perkins and Smith add a nice one-two punch that could be too much for CSU.

Chase Baker (CSU) – Baker has been really good for the Vikings, so far he has he has 11 goals in just four games played. The Vikings are going to need more of that if they are going to pull this one out.

Andy German (CSU) – As the head coach, German is going to have to have a great game plan for the Vikings to have a chance. It is going to be a tough game for his Vikings, but they could very well pull this one out.

Score Prediction

I think Smith and Perkins will be too much for CSU and the Colonials will take this in a close one 18-17, getting them a small, but nice two game win streak.
