YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO– The Robert Morris women’s soccer team (1-7-0, 1-7-0 Horizon) will finish their season in Youngstown, Ohio as they take on the Youngstown State University. The Colonials have a record of 6-5-0 against the Penguins. Their most recent meeting was on September 9th, 2018 when the Colonials earned a 2-0 victory in Youngstown.

The Colonials last took the field on Tuesday, March 30th when they suffered a 3-0 loss to Cleveland State. The Colonials survived an early chance for the Vikings after a goal in the 6th minute was waved off for being offsides. However, Kathryn Ramicone got CSU on the scoresheet minutes later.

RMU had some decent chances but Ali Martin doubled the Vikings’ lead midway through the opening half. In the second half of the match, the Colonials applied heavy pressure to the Vikings defense but did not find the back of the net. The Vikings got their last goal of the night in the 70′ off the corner, earning them a 3-0 victory.

Youngstown State (0-7-1, 0-7-1) will be looking to get their first win of the season against RMU. The Penguins’ most recent matchup was against Wright State on Tuesday, March 30th. Despite ten shots and six of them on goal for the Penguins, the first half remained scoreless.

Abby Knight found the center of the net just 43 seconds into the second half, earning YSU a 1-0 lead. Sidney Kemp found the right side of the net in the 84th minute and tied the game for Wright State. Just over three minutes later, the Raiders took a 2-1 lead when a shot from Josie Krupp bounced off a YSU defender and into the goal at 86:28. Despite registering seven shots on goal, the Penguins failed to get on the scoresheet and fell 2-1 against Wright State.

Haleigh Finale (RMU) – Finale had one of the only chances for RMU in their game against Cleveland State. She leads the team in shots with three, and also registered one shot on goal.

Kaoru Hayashi (RMU) – In her five games this season with RMU, she has recorded 12 shots and one goal. She was tied in shots on goal against CSU with one. Hayashi will hopefully get back on the scoresheet against YSU.

Brooklyn Kirkpatrick (YSU) – The goalkeeper for YSU faced 11 shots on goal and 20 total shots in last week’s game against Wright State. She tallied nine saves and helped keep a struggling offense in the game.

Marcella Sizer (YSU) – Sizer leads the Penguins with four shots and two shots on goal. She’s recorded three goals and six points this season and has been a huge part of the Penguins’ offense.

I predict that the Colonials will close out their season with a 2-0 victory over the Penguins.
