FAIRFAX STATION, Va.– RMU Rowing will open up the season on Sunday, March 28 when they take part in the Occoquan Sprints against George Mason and Loyola Maryland.

When the Colonials hit the water, they return a group of ten seniors who helped the varsity team win the 2019 MAAC championship. Also returning is graduate coxswain Kestra Harris who had her 2020 campaign shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This will also be the first time Carol Schoenecker will be guiding Robert Morris as she was named the head coach of the rowing team back in June. She served as an assistant coach on the squad for four seasons before becoming head coach.

RMU was selected fifth in the MAAC preseason poll with 51 points. Drake, Stetson, Jacksonville, and Marist finished ahead of the Colonials in the poll.

After the competition concludes at the Occoquan Sprints, Robert Morris will return home and faceoff against Marietta on Saturday, April 3 at the Midge McPhail Boathouse.
