The Robert Morris athletics department has announced the 2018 Hall of Fame Class. New members came from men’s and women’s basketball, track & field, men’s hockey, volleyball and men’s soccer.

For men’s basketball, the inductee is Velton Jones, who played for Robert Morris from 2008-13. Jones helped RMU lead to an overall record of 91-50 (.645). In Robert Morris’ biggest men’s basketball game ever, the NIT game against Kentucky, he contributed eight points and five assists in the dramatic 59-57 win.

The women’s basketball inductee is Sade Logan, who played for RMU from 2007-09 after transferring from Chattanooga State. Logan was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year in 2008 for helping lead the Colonials towards their second NEC Tournament and NCAA tournament berth.

The track & field inductee is Courtney Lenart, who was on the team from 2002-07. Lenart was a two-time NEC champion in the javelin, winning consecutive titles in 2004 and 2005 for throwing 45.13 and 46.14 meters respectively.

The men’s hockey inductee is Denny Urban, who played from 2007-11. He is being inducted for holding a program record of 112 points for a defenseman that combined from having 28 goals and 84 assists. Urban also established the single-season record for assists with 32 assists, but that record has since been broken.

The volleyball inductee is Hannah Veith, who played from 2008-11. She is being inducted after completing her career with 1,048 kills, a .354 attack percentage, and 422 blocks. All of these marks placed her second in RMU school history.

Finally, the entire 1993 men’s soccer team is being inducted for delivering an overall record of 14-7-1 and they had a 5-3 conference record that year. The leader of that team, Troy Fabiano (RMU Hall of Fame Class of 2001), had 19 goals and five assists for 43 points.

The sixth annual induction ceremony will be held at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport hotel on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019.
