McIvor signs in Sweden

Former Robert Morris men’s soccer player, Keane McIvor, has signed with a professional contract with Gottne IF in the Swedish Division 2 Nörra Gotaland. In his time with the Colonials, McIvor was an integral part of the RMU offense.

McIvor amassed a lengthy resumé in his time at RMU. In three years, McIvor made 43 appearances and registered a total of 29 points. Of those 29 points, 17 of which were assists putting his assists per game total at 0.47 this a record for the program. McIvor was also named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team a total of three times.

In his senior campaign, McIvor led the NEC in assists with a total of eight on the season. These eight assists were also a career high for the Trinidad and Tobago native. He also led the team in shots (49) and finished in second in points (12) and shots on goal (16). McIvor also played the fourth most minutes 1,520 out of any RMU player.

One of the major highlights of McIvor’s senior season came in a game on Oct. 29, 2017, when he converted on a penalty kick in overtime to beat Sacred Heart. Not only did this goal help carry the Colonials to victory, it also clinched RMU’s spot in the NEC Tournament.

Other notable moments from McIvor’s career include finishing tied for third on the team in goals during the 2015 season. In 2016, he sassisted on both goals in RMU’s 2-0 victory against Pitt. He also led the team with five assists and nine points that season.

As for McIvor’s new club, Gottne IF currently sits in eighth place in the division. They have a total of 25 points but sit 15 points off of Hudiksvalls at the top of the league. The club could use McIvor’s offensive prowess as Gottne IF has been shut out in each of its last two fixtures.
