RMU 4 (1-1-0, 1-1-0 AHC), Canisius 3 (0-1-0, 0-1-0 AHC): The RMU men’s hockey team picked up their first win of the season Friday night with a 4-3 victory over the Canisius Golden Griffins. The deciding goal was scored by senior Spencer Dorowicz with just four minutes remaining in the third period. The Colonials came out of the gates strong, netting two power play goals in the first period. The first came from the stick of sophomore Matthew Graham, and then Michael Louria added a second goal. Brady Ferguson assisted both of these goals on his way to leading the team in points (2) on the night. Luke Lynch put the Colonials up by three in the second, but then the Golden Griffins battled back.

Canisius added a power play goal of their own to kickstart their comeback five minutes into the second. They added two more goals in the next five minutes to tie the game at three, but this was not enough as Dorowicz’s goal earned the victory for RMU.

The Colonials will hope to beat the Golden Griffins again Saturday at 7:35 p.m.
