Game One:

Northern Illinois 8 (18-7), RMU 0 (6-20): The Colonials were shut out by Northern Illinois Saturday in five innings in their first game of their second day in the Blue/Gold Challenge played in Greensboro, North Carolina. Northern Illinois scored their first run in the second inning off an RBI single. The Huskies went on to score four runs in the third inning, and three more insurance runs in the fifth. Robert Morris recorded five team hits, with junior Jordan Gurganus and senior Lauren Hackett combining for four of them. Freshman pitcher Lacee Collins, now 0-7 on the season, received the loss, giving up five runs on six hits allowed over 2.2 innings pitched.

 

Game Two:

UNCG 8 (19-11), RMU 0 (6-21): RMU dropped their second straight game of the day Saturday as UNCG defeated the Colonials 8-0 over five innings of play in the Colonials’ last tournament game of the season. UNCG pitcher Alicia Bazonski shutout out the Colonials and limited them to only three total hits. UNCG jumped out to an early lead, scoring four first inning runs. UNCG added to their lead, scoring three more runs the next inning and their eighth in the third inning. For the third straight game, Jordan Gurganus finished with two hits. Freshman Kaitlin Ellzy started for RMU in the circle. She fell to 6-9 on the season, giving up seven runs on seven hits in 1.1 innings pitched.
